100km Self-Supported Snow Shoe Hike Across The Arctic Circle

This is not a holiday. You'll be inspiring friends, family, and future generations by doing something extraordinary for the people and communities that matter to you.

An unsupported attempt to cover 100km across the Arctic Circle in 7 days.

Along the way you'll cross frozen lakes, skirt ancient glaciers, pass by the villages of the indigenous Sami people, witness some of the most stunning scenery on the planet, and hopefully get a glimpse of the Northern Lights, whilst raising much needed funds for your charity of choice.

The Challenge in a Nutshell:

+ Start point: Abisko Mountain Station, Kungsleden, Northern Sweden.

+ Hike 100km across the Arctic Circle using snowshoes.

+ Work as a team in the harshest of environments.

+ Employ various Arctic survival techniques.

+ Practice ice-breaking drills (where conditions allow).

+ Build emergency shelters and snow holes.

+ Become proficient in expedition foot care, nutrition, and clothing systems.

+ Experience Arctic mountain hut life.

+ Raise much needed funds for your charity of choice.

+ End point: Nikkaloukta Mountain Station, Northern Sweden.

This challenge is not a holiday. No flash accommodation or spa treatments (save for the odd application of chaffing medication). This is a real expedition challenge and the going is arduous but achievable for the individual prepared to get themselves in shape.

During the challenge the team will use pulks to carry backup equipment and you will be required to take a shift in pulling these sleds as well as other team chores such as digging ice-holes for water, chopping wood for fuel, and generally looking out for team mates who might be struggling that day.

Don’t worry though, there will be plenty of training opportunities and a tailor made training plan for those who require it.

Occasionally we'll encounter some of the Arctic's wildlife and where this happens we are required to respect their space.

Fauna of the area includes Brown Bear, Ptarmigan, Moose, Reindeer, Beaver, Arctic Fox, Wolverine, and Lynx all of which is more likely to run or fly away rather than toward you.

Join us. Join the ranks of previous hard knock team mates and stick aside fear to take on the challenge of a lifetime.

You'll endure hardships in incredible places. You'll pick up new life affirming skills. And you'll learn something new about yourself, all the while helping those struggling to help themselves.

Should it need emphasising - this is not a holiday. You only sign up for this to make a difference to people in your community.

The challenge is hard because it needs to reflect the struggles of the people and charities you'll be supporting.
